YLE

Examinations are held twice a year. Young students’ skills are tested in:

• Reading & Writing
• Listening
• Speaking

There are 3 levels to YLE:

• Starters: Students are required to have a junior B to Senior A level in order to take the exams
• Movers: Students are required to have a Senior B level
• Flyers: Students are required to have a Senior C level

KET

Students eligible for the KET examinations are required to have a Senior B to Senior C level of knowledge.

PET

Students eligible for the PET examinations are required to have a Senior D to Senior E level of knowledge.

FCE (First Certificate in English)

Do you want to use English for work or study purposes?

If you are able to communicate using written and spoken English at an upper- intermediate level, then FCE is the examination for you.

FCE is set at Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

What FCE offers

A FCE certificate has lifelong validity.
It is an international certificate recognised around the world for business and study purposes
FCE is recognised by thousands of companies, universities and public sector institutions as a qualification in upper-intermediate English
FCE serves as an ideal pathway to examinations for higher qualifications, such as Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) and Proficiency of English (CPE)

What FCE involves

FCE Exam has 5 sections:

• Reading
• Writing
• Use of English
• Listening
• Speaking

Time of Exam

The exam can be taken in May and December.

At level B2 typical English users are able to:

understand the main ideas of complex texts
engage in a conversation on a wide range of topics, express opinions and present arguments
produce clear, detailed writing, expressing opinions and explaining the advantages and disadvantages of different points of view

CAE (Certificate in Advanced English)

For all of you who want to communicate using written and spoken English at an advanced level, CAE is the ideal certification option.

CAE is at Level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

What CAE offers

A CAE certificate has lifelong validity.
It is an international certificate recognised around the world for business and study purposes
CAE is recognised by thousands of companies, universities and public sector institutions as a qualification in advanced English
Passing the CAE exam gives you the confidence to take on the Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
Since CAE covers all 4 key language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking- it will increase your confidence to use English in real-life situations

What CAE involves

understand complex opinions
produce clear, detailed, and well-structured texts

CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English)

CPE is Cambridge University’s most advanced exam.

CPE is set at Level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
